Sultan of Johor’s Truck is the Most Expensive Mack Truck in the World

Most Expensive Mack Truck Looks like a Palace on Wheels

The most expensive Mack truck in the world has been made for Malaysia’s Sultan of Johor in horror of his visit to Brisbane.

The truck took an entire year to build at the manufacturer’s Wacol headquarters, south-west of Brisbane.

Fit for a king, or for a Sultan, his Majesty Ibrahim Ismail, this truck was unveiled in King George Square in Brisbane’s CBD.

Because it is the priciest Mack truck, has one of the fanciest extras around, featuring a six-camera CCTV system, two flat screen TVs, a stone-topped kitchen area, and barbecue.

But its best features are a double bed and seats with 72,000 stitches of gold thread and a solid-gold tiger hood ornament from Wallace Bishop.

“This is my dream — am I smiling?” the Sultan said of his “palace truck”.

Sultan Ibrahim said he was delighted with the end result.

“I have always appreciated Australia’s engineering skills and have collected a few Holden cars over the years,” he said.

“Mack has done a wonderful job and I’m looking forward to showing its workmanship to the people of Johor as soon as the Super-Liner is shipped over.”

The Sultan ordered the heavy duty rig to tow his power boat around the country. But his first drive will be a charity run when it arrives in Malaysia at the end of this month.

Mack Trucks Australia says the price tag for the extravagant truck is a secret, but “it’s certainly the highest ever for a Mack truck, easily smashing the previous record of $481,000 for a customised US-built rig.”

“We’d never contemplated the features that have been included in His Majesty’s truck,” he says.

“This is the most luxurious truck to have been built in Australia and probably the planet.”

Other features include: programmable strip-lighting running the full length of the cab; a stone-topped kitchen, with fridge, microwave and grill; police-standard flashing lights and sirens; Bose surround sound system; fully-ducted air-conditioning; and X-Box and Playstation consoles.

The 685hp truck, also fitted with external LED lighting and heat and sound insulation, has been painted red, white and blue to match the colours of Johor.
