15. How did he start it all?
Now Drake is a world renowned rapper, not many people know that he actually started it all as an actor. By the age of 15, he met a friend in his high school whose father happened to be an acting agent. He gave Drake a role on Degrassi: The Next Generation. It was a teen drama series aired in Canada.
He admitted that acting was never his passion. But at that time, he needed the money to feed his family. So, he portrayed Jimmy Brooks. He was a part of the main cast for about five seasons before returning sporadically as a guest appearance.
By that point, he decided to pursue his real passion, music. In 2006, he self-released a mixtape titled Room for Improvement. And he got around 6,000 copies of them sold.
Then a year later, another mixtape was released. This one was titled Comeback Season. And this one caught the attention of Lil Wayne. He invited Drake to join his tour, Tha Carter III. From there, the rest is history.
