14. Ferrari 340/375 MM Berlinetta Competizione ($12,812,800)
Next up is one of the rarest cars from Ferrari. There were only four Ferrari 340/375 MM Berlinetta Competizione cars ever produced. And one of them was racing the 1953 Le Mans 24 Hours race. This car is indeed a legend. In fact, three legendary racing champions were accelerating towards triumph with it. They are Nino Farina, Alberto Ascari, and Mike Hawthorn.
The Ferrari 340 MM is powered by a 4.1-L Lampredi V12 engine. It produces around 280bhp. And with the help of its Weber Carburetors, the car can achieve 280 hp at 6,600 rpm.
Giovanni Michelotti, the designer, actually made around ten others of this series. But this Berlinetta was especially designed for car racing competition. Hence the name competizione.
On May, 2013, one of these rare cars was up for auction at RM Auctions in Lazio, Italy. One buyer bid the 1953 car for almost $13 million! That is a staggering amount of money. But considering the car’s rarity and history, it is worth every dime.
