Who are they?
It all started in 2012 when the UK-based brothers launched Fallen Furniture. What is Fallen Furniture you ask?
Well, it’s a company that reclaims old aircraft parts in order to create pieces of art and furniture. Pretty cool, isn’t it?
They’ve added to their collection a most recent launch – Plane Industries. That’s a brand that takes airplane textiles that will otherwise be disposed, and transforms them into one-of-a-kind travel accessories.
Among their most popular items are duffle bags, backpacks, messenger bags and laptop and phone cases.
You might think it’s odd to recycle the fabric you once used to sit on it. All you need is to take a good look at their products and you’ll be sold.
And I’m sure if you didn’t know of what materials are made you wouldn’t even think about airplane textile.
The company believes so much in their goal that they even got a Kickstarter page.
“We believe that luxury, indulgence, and beauty do not have to come at the expense of our desire to live sustainably,” the company wrote on its Kickstarter page.
How much the travel pack is worth?
The bags, which currently cost between $285 and $361, are finished off with vegetable tanned Italian leather, brass fixtures made in the United States, and organic cotton lining.
Beside from the fact that most people don’t have anything that came from airplane parts, Plane Industries’ products are unique in their own way and have their own history; mostly because they have traveled around the world and have been there for smooth flights and trips with severe turbulence.
They might have even been on more journeys than you and visited the countries you’ve never step in. You’ve got to admit it that these products are much cooler than a piece mass produced in a factory!
