14. Colored Diamond Ear Pendants ($1.65 million)
Usually, the center of jewelry piece is a bright big natural diamond. But this time, the colored diamond takes the spotlight. And usually, colored diamond does not sell for millions of dollar. But again this time, it did.
The pair of ear pendants is made of colored diamonds and diamonds. With estimated value only around $450,000 to $550,000, they were actually sold for $1,650,500.
Bulgari designed and made this particular piece of jewelry in 1960. Each of the suspending is a modified pear-shaped fancy yellow diamond which is detachable. One weighs around 15.6 carats, and the other is around 15.38 carats. And they are suspended from a cluster of circular-cut, marquise-cut, and pear-shaped diamonds mounted in platinum.
I mentioned earlier that Richard Burton was the most responsible in terms of showering Liz with jewelry gifts. But this one was a gift from Eddie Fisher who was married to Liz before Burton. Liz got these earrings for her 30th birthday.
