Let’s say you are a foreign student who wants to rent some place in London. Let’s also assume that for you, money is not a problem. Where do you go?

You are not going to pay to live with a roommate, so where to go? Simple, you choose the best of the best, as in the London’s priciest student accommodations.

At £21,000 (US$31,855) per month, these student accommodations are located right on Park Lane.

Launched by Mayfair estate agent Wetherell, the London’s most expensive place a student can rent, are at Fountain House block.

Among the 100,000 foreign students in London, the majority of them are wealthy Chinese, Malaysian, and Russian students.

The company has begun to advertise six luxury flats in the refurbished Fountain House block for foreign, rich students.

The Fountain House was originally built in 1938 and was design by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, the man who also designed Britain’s iconic red telephone box.

The name of the building was inspired by Hyde Park’s “Fountain of Joy”, which you can see from the apartments.

Recently refurbished by Criterion Capital, a part of the block is now hosting five luxury 2-bedroom apartments and a 3-bedroom flat.

Ranging from 1,600 sq ft. to over 2,000 sq ft. in size, the apartments are perfect for independent, rich students who are looking for good education in London.

If you fit in that category, you can rent the 2-bedrrom apartment for £2,250 ($3,414) per week, or £108,000 ($163,928) per year.

These prices are really high considering that the average London salary is only £27,000 ($40,970).

Then there’s the 3-bedroom flat that costs £5,250 ($7,968) per week, or £252,000 ($382,500) per year.

The estate agent Wetherell is advertising the flats to international students, despite the high rents.

The agency has sent details of the six apartments to a database of foreign students. Wetherell says many rich foreign parents prefer the safety of a private rental over student halls.

For example, the 3-bed apartment has already been let to a 19-year-old fashion student from North America.

Some of the features of the apartments include stone flooring, walk-in wardrobes, stone worktops in the kitchen, and a free-standing bath.

Alexander James Interior Design has worked on each of the apartments, while the building has a pillared main entrance foyer with 16 ft. high ceiling, a manned hotel-style concierge desk and a 24-hour porter service.
