14. Even the rich and famous prefer chartering
Yes, we all love to travel in style. Having a private jet to yourself means you don’t need to buy tickets, stand in line to get on board, or wait for stewards to finish serving other passengers.
But take a look around. How many people own a private jet? Compare that to the number of millionaires we have in this world. See, even most of rich and famous people prefer chartering than buying a private jet. They do love the luxury and all other reasons you have in mind about flying on a private jet. But they also know how handful owning one is.
As you can see on the picture above, even some of the highest paid Formula 1 drivers and richest TV pundits chip in to charter a private jet. And their jobs require them to travel to different countries every month. Still, chartering is the best option to them.
It is not that they cannot afford to buy one. If you have read those articles about them, you know they can. But they understand well that buying a private jet will cost them more than its purchase. We’ll discuss about these costs in the following pages.
