14. Aston Martin DB5 Volante ($4.1 million)
The Aston Martin DB5 is regarded by many as the most beautiful car ever produced by the manufacturer. The car was sold from 1963 to 1965. There were 1,059 of them manufactured. Back then, the retail price was $5,800.
But today, it has become the 5th most expensive Aston Martin ever sold in the world. One of this James Bond’s DB5 cars was auctioned in London back in 2010. With the fact that it was used in many James Bond movies, such as Goldfinger and Thunderball, it was expected to sell for at least $5 million. It came out $900,000 less.
“Often billed as the most famous car in the world, James Bond’s gadget laden Silver Birch DB5 in Goldfinger became many a schoolboy’s dream.”
In terms of power, the car is equipped by a 3,995 cc DOHC Straight engine. It can go up to 228 kph of speed. And it goes from standing to 100 kph in 7.1 seconds. If 1960s Aston Martin car is this good, I wonder what this year’s Aston Martin Hyper Car can do.
