14. Brembo (Estimated Value: $1.3 billion)
Brembo is one of many Formula 1 component manufacturers for some teams, such as Ferrari. It specializes in brake discs. And the company’s relation with the sport started in 1975 when Enzo Ferrari appointed Brembo as his supplier for his racing team.
Founded in 1961, the Italian company also supplies brake components for high-performance-road-car and motorcycle manufacturers. Among them are BMW, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, and Nissan.
More than seven thousand employees work at Brembo plant in Bergamo, Italy, to serve worldwide supply. Besides brake system, it also manufactures tires and clutches through its subsidiaries: AP Racing, Marchesini, and Sabelt. Altogether, the whole company is worth around $1.3 billion.
Besides Formula 1, Brembo also supplies for other top motorsports such as MotoGP and IndyCar Series. In fact, it has been the official brake supplier for IndyCar since 2012 season.
