14. The Simpsons on FOX ($190,000 per 30 seconds)
Next up is another animated sitcom on FOX. Most of you are probably familiar with The Simpsons. And perhaps some of you even grew up watching this. Well, it should come as no surprise since the show has been around for almost three decades now.
Back in the early 1990s, some of the program’s episodes could reach up to 30 million viewers. Today, on its 28th season, the average rating is around 4 million viewers only. Regardless, The Simpsons still demands one of the costliest ads spots in the world with around $190,000 fee for one 30-second ads. This number slightly decreased from the previous year though.
You may think that this show is just a cartoon series on TV. But you have no idea how influential it is. Homer, the father character, has his own catchphrase: “D’oh!”. And guess what? This catchphrase has been adapted to English language. Just google “D’oh meaning” if you don’t believe me.
In spite of being criticized for its declining quality, there is no doubt that this show has influenced a lot of other adult animated sitcoms, including the one we saw earlier on this list.
