Lindsey Stirling is an American violinist, dancer, performance artist, composer, and YouTube star and her current net worth is $16 million.
Growing up in Arizona, she went to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah to study film making.
She served as a missionary in New York City for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There she met her ex-boyfriend, film maker Devin Graham.
They broke up after dating shortly while filming Crystallize and when he moved to Utah.
A few years later she returned to Provo to continue at BYU, and then moved back to Arizona to be with her family.
She graduated from the BYU Marriott School of Management with a Bachelor of Science degree in recreation management.
While working for a treatment center for troubled girls, she discovered her anorexia disorder. Even has publicly spoken about her battle with the disease.
When talking about her childhood she described it as a modest environment and said that she would not trade her humble childhood years for anything.
Because her parents’ financial status wasn’t very good, they couldn’t afford to find a violin teacher who would give her half lessons.
Told by instructors that “a child isn’t going to learn how to play in 15 minutes a week”, her parents persisted, and at the age of five she started taking violin lessons.
In 2007 she started a YouTube channel where she would post her choreographed violin performances.
Her YouTube channel has 9 million subscribers and over 1.7 billion views, as of 2017.
Stirling’s music video, Crystalize ranked as the eighth-most watched video of 2012. Her cover version of Radioactive with Pentatonix won the Response of the Year in the first YouTube Music Awards in 2013.
She also ranked among Forbes magazine’s 30 Under 30 in music, in 2015. Selling 200,000 copies in Germany, as well as winning a platinum certification her debut album impressed everyone in Europe.
