MarkiplierGAME is an American YouTube personality and his current net worth is $14 million.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to his father, who worked in the military and his mother who is of Korean descent, Fischbach’s family relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio shortly after.
He went to the University of Cincinnati and studied to become a biomedical engineer, but dropped out to focus on his YouTube career.
His older brother, Jason Thomas Fischbach is an artist and author of the web comic Twokinds.
First joined YouTube in 2012 when he created a channel named Markiplier. A playthrough of the video game Amnesia: The Dark Descent became the subject of his first series.
YouTube banned his first channel shortly after he posted other game series videos, including Penumbra and Dead Space.
He appealed as a last effort, but it did not succeed. As a result he created a new and current channel named MarkiplierGAME.
His channel ranked at number 61 on New Media Rockstars Top 100 in 2014. Around that time he moved to Los Angeles to have all the resources he needed for his channel, such as YouTube Space and other content creators.
In 2015 while he shared his place with fellow YouTubers Daniel Kyre and Ryan Magee, created and ran the YouTube channel Cyndago.
After moving to Los Angeles, Matt Watson from Maker Studios joined them. The work got a lot of attention because of the unexpected endings and dark, often disturbing humor.
After Daniel Kyre died and the channel’s disbandment he stopped uploading on YouTube from September to October 2015.
He announced in a video that he gave up alcohol after he suffered from a minor heart attack and required hospitalization.
The same year he co-hosted the 2015 South by Southwest Gaming Awards with The Legend of Korra voice actor Janet Varney.
A year later he signed to Revelmode, which is a sub-network to Maker Studios. The he continued to focus on comedy sketches, showing his aspiration of improvisational theatre.
He recently put together a team to assist in the making of his videos, including his girlfriend Amy, and three of his friends.
