Tiesto is a Dutch DJ and record producer and his current net worth is $155 million.

Born in Breda, Netherlands as Tijs Michiel Verwest, Tiesto first began interested in music at the age of twelve.

Then at 14 his passion for music grew as he started DJing professionally at school parties.

From 1985 to 1995 he started a residency at many clubs in the Netherlands, after his manager insisted.

In his early days he played mostly new beat and acid house. But in 1994 he started releasing new material on Noculan Records’ sub-labels Chemo and Coolman,

After the general manager of Basic Beat Recordings discovered him, he signed a contract with them. There he met Arny Bink, and released recordings under the sub-label Trashcan, founded by Bink.

Later he released four extended plays on Bonzai Jumps and XTC, sub-labels of Lighting Records.

After, he and his friend Bink left Basic Beat and started their own parent label, Black Hole Recordings.

Under the record label he released the Magik series as well as creating two major sub-labels, SongBird and In Trance We Trust.

Upon joining forces with fellow Dutch DJ Ferry Corsten, they created the trace based duo of Gouryella, which had a big success.

He made his first major breakthrough into the international market after showcasing the track in Magik Three: Far from Earth and in his set at the ID&T Innercity party.

His next single, Walhalla, also had big success and charted on the tops worldwide. Both singles received Gold certification on record sales.

Then in 2001 he released his debut album, In My Memory, which had various hits that helped launched his career. The same year DJ Magazine ranked him World No. 1 DJ, in its annual Top 100 DJs readership pool, for three consecutive years.

Then it followed the release of his second album, which also had big success. He became the first DJ to play live on stage at the 2004 Summer Olympics.

Then in 2007, Tiesto launched his radio show, Tiesto’s Club Life on Radio 538 in the Netherlands. After which, the release of his third studio album followed.

His third album, Elements of Life, reached #1 on the Belgian album chart as well on Billboard Top Electronic Albums in the US.

For the album he received a nomination for a Grammy Award. Then in 2009 he released his fourth studio album, Kaleidoscope, followed by A Town Called Paradise in 2014.

He won the Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical for his remixed version of John Legend’s hit “All Of Me” at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.

Throughout his career he became the Greatest DJ of All Time, a title given to him by MixMag magazine, in a poll voted by fans.
