Robert Kiyosaki is an American businessman and author and his current net worth is $85 million.

Born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii, as the oldest son of Ralph H. Kiyosaki, an academic and educator and Marjorie O. Kiyosaki, a registered nurse, he is a fourth-generation Japanese American.

Growing up, he attended Hilo High School, graduating in 1965. He earned congressional nominations from Senator Daniel K, Inouye for the U.S. Naval Academy as well as the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

From the two of them, he chose to attend the United States Merchant Marine Academy in New York City.

In 1969 he graduated as a deck officer with a Bachelors of Science degree and a commission as a 2nd LT in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Upon graduation, he started working at Standard Oil’s tanker office as a third mate sailor. But after, just six months, he quit joining the Marine Corps.

While in the Marine Corps, he served as a helicopter gunship pilot during the Vietnam War. There he won the Air Medal.

After the war, he attended a 2-year MBA program at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. A year later, he left the Marine Corps.

How did Robert get famous?

Until 1978, he worked as a sales associate for Xerox. After that, he established his company called Rippers.

Thanks to the company, the market has seen the first nylon and Velcro surfer wallets. Along with his products, Runner’s World, Gentleman’s Quarterly, Success Magazine, and many more, featured them.

However, the company he created went bankrupt and he established another one, which also went bankrupt.

In 1985 he started a business company, which taught entrepreneurship, investing, and social responsibility to young generation. Few years later, he sold it.

Then in 1997 he created Cashflow Technologies, Inc., a business and financial education company, which owns and operates the Rich Dad and Cashflow brands.

He also operates external business ventures and investments, with the main focus on retail, education, publishing, among others.

Kiyosaki received approx. $2 million in cash flow per month tax free from all his businesses and investments.

He is also involved with real estate and owns over 1400 units of apartment houses.

For the 2016 Presidential elections he has endorsed and supported Republican candidate Donald Trump.
