Didier Drogba is an Ivorian professional footballer and his current net worth is $94 million.
Born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, at seven years old his parents sent him to France to live with his uncle. At eight years old, three years after he left, he got homesick and returned home.
His nickname Tito, gave to him by his mother, comes after President Josip Bronz Tito of Yugoslavia, whom she admired.
Upon his return to the Ivory Coast he used to play football every day in a car park.
After both of his parents lost their jobs, his family moved to France to live with his uncle.
While in Paris, he started playing football more frequently and joined a local youth side.
Later on he joined the semi-professional club Levallois, where he gained a reputation of prolific scorer in the youth team. He also impressed his coach with his professional talent.
Thanks to his performance he got a spot in the senior squad. However, despite his effort to impress Jacques Loncar, the first team coach, with his debut, he failed.
Upon finishing school he moved to the city Le Mans to study accountancy at the university. He also had to change clubs, moving to Ligue 2 club Le Mans, as an apprentice.
After some failed attempts and some health problems, at 21 years old, he realized he had to establish himself as a player soon or else his chance will be lost.
Soon after he made his first team debut for Le Mans and signed his first professional contract in 1999.
Also the same year, he and his wife welcomed their first child. His new responsibilities changed his life.
He scored seven goals in thirty games in his first season, as well as predicting well for the future. During the next season, however, he did not live up to expectations.
Drogba lost his place to Daniel Cousin due to injury, and then upon his return, he failed to score throughout the remainder of the season. But he returned the following season scoring five goals in 21 games.
Today he plays as a striker for American club Phoenix Rising FC. He is one of the best footballers and the former captain of the Ivory Coast national team.
His career at Chelsea, for whom he scored more goals than any other foreign player, made him famous.
He received the title of the African Footballer of the Year twice, as well as winning the accolade in 2006 and 2009.
