Born as the second of three children of Italian parents who emigrated to Canada, she grew up in a working-class, Roman Catholic household in St. Catharines, Ontario.
While there, she went to Denis Morris Catholic High School and attended a self-improvement school at the age of 12. There she learned things such as poise and etiquette, and they advised her to start a modeling career.

She began her career, as a teenager, by modeling locally in her hometown. She even participated in the Miss Teen Niagara beauty pageant.

In the following year, her haircut became the look of the season and named “The Linda”. Even inspired the creation of a wig called “The Evangelista”.
