N9. “El Chapo” was the Hottest Halloween Costume in Mexico
It seems that everyone wanted to be ‘El Chapo”. This year, the striped prison jumpers and latex mask resembling the drug kingpin “El Chapo” were the two things that made this costume so popular.
The facts are confirmed by the CEO of costume maker Caretas, who said that the company produced more than 2,600 “El Chapo” masks this year.
The notorious kingpin became even more famous after he escaped from a maximum-security prison cell in July.
The U.S. government has since announced a $5 million award for information leading to his capture.
