Growth Hacks Rich People Use All The Time

Everyone has access to growth hacks, but not everyone takes them. And the main reason they fail to do so is because they are just not aware of them.

It’s really easy to miss something you don’t actually look for.

But by the end of this article, you will be aware of all the growth hacks rich people always look for, and you should too.

Here are 10 growth hacks the rich use all the time:

Don’t worry if you don’t feel like reading, you can enjoy the video below or watch it on YouTube:

1

Hack #1 – Obsess over numbers

This is something you learn when you start a business or are put in charge of building something for the first time.

The final truth is found in numbers. They always say the right thing, that’s why this is such an important growth hack.

You can try to change them or make them look better, but someone who is good with numbers will always be able to tell.

“You can’t improve what you can’t measure,” as the old saying goes.

If you don’t know what your numbers are, there is no way you can grow in a reliable way.

Because of this, rich people pay too much for accounting, market research, and spreadsheets.

Now, numbers are so important because, in fact, progress doesn’t happen in one big step.

There is no one big thing you can do that will make everything better.

Making changes to every number you have at your hands is how you make progress.

Let’s take the simple case of trying to lose weight.

  • There is a number for every calorie you eat.
  • There is a number for every step you take.
  • There is a number for each rep you do.
  • There is a number for your metabolism rate.

When you add up all the numbers, you can see the whole picture.

Then, all you have to do is figure out what to change in small ways to make things better.

The main thing to remember is that every time you can explain something with a number, it’s a chance to improve.

2

Hack #2 – Get in uncomfortable situations

You see, mastery and understanding happen in a zone of slight discomfort.

A good rule of thumb is to be 80% confident in what you are doing and 20% in a learning zone.

That 80% will make you consistent, and that 20% will force you to improve.

The takeaway is this: Growth happens in the friction zone between comfort and discomfort.

3

Hack #3 – Go into uncharted territory

Here’s a very important business tip.

There are no more secrets in business. They used to be around, but now there is a lot of information about everything.

Every hour that goes by, more information is written down about the world. Here’s the strange thing though:

Even with all this information, you’ll still have to go where no one has been before.

Even if you drive on the same road every day, it will never be exactly the same.

There could be traffic this time, rain the next, or a rabbit could jump in front of you.

Even if you know the way well, you should still pay attention.

The point we’re trying to make is that you can never be 100% ready for everything.

Something bad will happen that wasn’t meant to.

Something you thought you had planned for will show up out of the blue.

Your hard-working advertising strategy is not working.

You did a lot of study for that book, but it’s not selling.

That degree you thought would always be useful isn’t looking so good now. Programmers, we are looking at you.

You can’t avoid the uncharted area.

Once you’re used to this way of thinking, you’ll see every time you’re a little lost as a chance to grow.

The takeaway is this: Uncharted territory is unavoidable. So you might as well map it out yourself.

Hack #4 – Punch above your weight

This is one of our favorite growth hacks because we’ve seen it work for ourselves.

People might say something like, “Stay in your lane.” – but that doesn’t mean you should do it.

There is no rule that says you should do things slowly, carefully, and well within your abilities.

Let’s use our app as an example. No, this isn’t a plug, but don’t worry, it will come later.

No one says that to make and sell a good product, you need a building full of workplaces and a budget of hundreds of millions of dollars.

You just think that because that’s what other people have told you.

At the same time, and we’ll be forgiven for this, you don’t actually need 10,000 hours to learn something.

Some people can do it much faster than that.

These rules are just made up on the spot and don’t make any sense.

Take a look at sports. How often does a new player show up on a team no one has heard of, and they beat the competition?

They don’t have a history, a Nike training center or anything like that, or a team of teachers, but they still do their best.

The takeaway is this: You can only be as big as you allow yourself to be.

5

Hack #5 – If you don’t know, learn.

Even if you end up getting someone else to do it.

Think about how you feel when someone speaks your language.

By “language,” we mean things like code, design, marketing, growth hacks, etc.

We still pay for lessons, we still watch “how to” videos, and we still learn when we need to.

And that’s because, number one, it helps you judge people better, and number two, it shows you what we really need.

There are almost as many things you don’t know that you don’t know as there are stars in the sky.

The real secret is this:

The theoretical knowledge you need to get a degree is like a mountain, but the actual knowledge you need to do the job is like a couple of pebbles in your pocket.

Or nuggets of gold if you will.

Which is exactly what our Alux app gives you. We told you the plug was coming, and here it is.

Download the app to find out more.

The point is that learning things on your own will always pay for itself and then some. It’s the best way to keep yourself from getting stuck.

Most people don’t know how or where to start, which is why the Alux App is a great place to start.

6

If you know, do it.

At the end of the day, it’s not ability, money, or connections that separate those who succeed from those who don’t. It’s how well they do what they set out to do.

Believe us when we say that even a bad job is better than no job.

You are at least getting somewhere. Even if it’s just a tiny bit, you’re one step closer.

There’s no clock behind you that’s running. You decide how fast to go.

The worst thing you can do for your own growth is to do nothing.

It won’t help you to think about it or make plans about it.

No matter how you feel about this statement, at the end of the day, the world belongs to those who act.

And here’s a little extra bonus that we learned while running this business.

Even though it doesn’t make sense, most of the time it’s a lot easier to do a lot of things than just a few or nothing at all.

This is why once you start, it’s not too hard to keep going. For example, if you have a good schedule, routine, or list of goals, it’s easy to keep going.

You gain speed, and the energy you get from that carries you away. This is the power of this growth hack.

The big takeaway is this:

It’s easy to keep running when you’re already running. But it’s hard to start running when all you do is walk.

7

Set up a stupid hourly rate for yourself.

This is something we learned from Naval Ravikant.

Imagine for a second, that an hour of your time is worth $1000.

  • What would you spend your time doing?
  • Would you sit in an hour-long meeting?
  • Will that hour produce $1000 worth of value?

You might think that this is taken advantage of, but the truth is that rich people really do set up businesses where they charge tens of thousands of dollars for an hour of their time.

So why would they do that, and why should you do it too?

It’s not about finding someone dumb enough to pay you that much; it’s about figuring out how much you’re worth.

If you want this to be important to you, you need to be important to yourself.

When an hour of your time costs thousands of dollars, even if no one has ever given you that much, you stop wasting time on things you know aren’t worth it.

You should be doing other things with your time.

One popular reason why this is not true is: “having fun and not taking life too seriously”?

Yes, you can also do that.

But if you want to grow, for now at least, that’s not the most important thing.

8

Embrace discipline

Yes, we know that discipline is all everyone talks about.

Here’s what you probably don’t get about this growth hack, though.

Freedom and discipline are two sides of the same coin.

You can’t have one without the other. Now, being disciplined doesn’t mean that you have to stick to a strict plan.

It just means keeping your promises. That’s all there is to it.

You already know what to do. You’ve told yourself that a million times.

But it doesn’t mean anything if you don’t take responsibility for yourself.

People don’t like discipline because it sounds boring, and life is supposed to be fun. That’s how it really is. Discipline is often seen as a bad thing.

So use this chance to change it for the better.

The takeaway is this: Nobody is forcing you to do anything. It’s only you.

9

Trust the process

We feel so close to this because we’ve been following the process for almost a decade, and it shows.

Since the beginning of this project, which turned out to be a full-fledged business, we’ve had faith in the process. We knew that if we worked hard and showed up, the results would come in the end.

We had no idea when or how it would happen. That was where no one had been before.

But we know the process will always work.

So what is this process exactly?

It’s basically a set of trends that lead to a certain result.

If you do X for Y amount of time, Z happens.

It happens without you having to think about it.

For instance, if you read books for a long time, you can learn more words.

You learn more words and how to use them in different situations, and over time it gets easier to put your feelings into words.

This growth hack applies to everything.

One way to accept the process is through deliberate practice.

We knew that if we kept making content about things we were interested in, we would finally build an audience. And now you’re here.

The takeaway is this: The process always works, you just have to keep doing it.

10

Do more than you think you can do

Here’s the thing about the hustle culture and the overachiever mentality: Social media and society made it toxic

But if you do it right, this is a very sure way to grow.

Everyone has a limit to how much they can pay attention or how much stress they can handle.

And everyone thinks their limit is much lower than it is.

No, sending four emails is not a hard day’s work.

It’s just a joke that people who are unhappy with their jobs and their skills can get them to spread around.

You can do a lot more than you think you can.

You just don’t push yourself enough.

We are really good at getting used to things that seemed too much at first and making them our new normal.

Think about how hard it is for your parents to get up early, make your food, drive you to school, go to work, come home, make dinner, do housework, wait in line, and so on.

For you, this seems like a lot of work, but for them, it was just another day.

The takeaway is this: You don’t know what you are capable of until you actually try it.

These are some of the most potent growth hacks we’ve come across in our journey. Make sure you apply them ASAP and start reaping the rewards.
