The Adidas x Kanye West Show Was the Real Deal of New York Fashion Week

Sure, we were all curious about the Adidas x Kanye West show yesterday, it was clear it was going to be big and full of surprises, but we didn’t expect one thing: to own the entire first day of NYFW!

Over the past few weeks there was a complete madness out there, everybody was waiting for Kanye’s new Yeezy Boosts and he dropped the bomb a couple of days before when he started the rumors that there wasn’t going to be just footwear on the show, no, Kanye’s clothes are coming to town!

And of course, the launching of Kanye’s collaboration with Adidas, Yeezy Season 1, had to be a huge show as Kimye already got us used to and man, it rose up to the expectations! The show dominated the entire first day of NYFW and became the main topic everywhere!

And I have to say, with a front row like that it was really hard for any designer to seize Kanye’s show. I mean, when you see a front row with Beyonce, Jay Z, Rihanna, Anna Wintour and so on, you simply have to surrender.

But it was indeed a memorable show that only Kanye West could’ve pull – fluorescent lights pulsing, the release of a new song featuring Sia and Vic Mensa and Kanye shouting:

I want people to feel like awesome is possible

The best part of the show though was the fact that the clothing was as good as the atmosphere!

The entire collection was military inspired featuring camo M-65 jackets, frayed sweaters, deeply crop tops made from recycled Adidas socks, officer sweaters, flak vests, body-conscious undergarments in various shades of nude and the hottest item that you’re going to see a lot of this winter – high-top boots.

And the best part of it all: everything was created to be unisex!

We have to give some credit to Adidas though that gave complete freedom to Kanye and let him design the line without any trace of the brand – no stripes, no logo, no nothing. It was a premier for the German sportswear brand, too!

Anyways, I think it’s safe for us to say that this is going to be a killer collection and although we’re already used with Kanye in the spotlight, I think we’d better get used to him on the fashion scene because I’m telling you – this is just the beginning!

So, to sum it up, Kanye managed to strike us in the most pleasant way possible and left everyone talking. I’m honestly starting to believe this is one of his skills. The show was that good that it was too much to handle even for little North that started crying – from all the awesomeness and success of his daddy I suppose!

Now that you’ve set the bar so high, we’re expecting the next big move, Kanye!
