14. The struggles to reach the top
Sometimes, the hardest hurdle that stands between you and your dream comes from the closest people around you. It is unfortunate, but it is the truth. And even a star like Jennifer Lopez had to experience this as well.
Even though her parents supported her when she was a little kid, it is a different story when it comes to making a choice between formal education and talent.
J-Lo always knew that she wanted to have a career in entertainment. But her parents disagree. They didn’t think a Latina can accomplish that. So, to make them happy, J-Lo went to Baruch College. But it only lasted for one semester.
She chose to pursue her dream after dropping out of college. Then, she left home to Manhattan. And there were times when she didn’t have a place to stay. She spent some nights at a dance studio where she used to practice.
