This South Korean barista named Lee Kang-bin is redefying CreamArt by recreating intricate designs on the layer of steamed milk that sits atop of your coffee.
Because South Korea’s coffee consumption per capita has almost doubled since 1990, makes it the perfect place for this barista to showcase his art.
His creations include some of the most expensive paintings in the world. Among his creations are miniature imitations of famous paintings like Vincent Van Gogh’s “The Starry Night” and “The Scream” by Edvard Munch.
For the result to be so astonishing he carefully etches the creations into the frothy layer on the top of a coffee using cream tinged with a palette of food dyes.
How much time does he need?
For each piece, he needs around 15 minutes to complete the process.
How much for a cup of coffee?
Priced at around 10,000 won (£6.74) a cup, you can get the coffee he makes at his shop “Café C.Through” in Seoul.
Alongside the expensive works of Van Gogh and Edvard Munch, he also created Disney characters.
Bambi, Snow White and Winnie the Pooh, are the fan’s favorites when it comes to Disney characters.
But the barista is also making startlingly realistic versions of Edgar Degas’s dancers and Leonardo DiCaprio portraits.

“One time I drew ‘The Starry Night’ and it looked so special as the famous painting placed on top of coffee. After that, lots of people ordered that coffee,” Mr Kang-bin told Reuters.
His Instagram account has over 169,000 followers, where people follow his CreamArt. They frequently request versions of their favorite art works.
The thing is, he never actually formally learned how to draw. But his masterful designs have earned him a judge’s seat at latte art competitions around the world.
Who is he?
Since he turned 17 years old, he has been brewing coffee. Started making coffee while completing his compulsory military service.
Right there he decided to buy his own machines and open a place for other soldiers in his camp.
