Turns out that Katie & Craig Ferguson hit the jackpot after moving into the house of previous lottery winners!
This couple decided to play at Postcode Lottery after hearing the previous house owners won the big prize.
The family living in Sandy Lane, Billingham, has scored the big prize of a £3 million lotto prize after the previous owners won £4.5 million.
After Katie found out that the previous owners of her new home are jackpot winners, she took it as a sign.
Katie moved into the house with his husband Chris and their one-year-old son Hugo just a few months ago.
Their luck changed after she had the inspiration to play the Postcode Lottery.
The couple expected only to receive the minimum of £500, after they sent an official incite to a special ceremony to find out exactly how much they have won.
Dental nurse Katie told Gazette Live : “We hadn’t been moved in long when a neighbor stopped me outside and said, I hope that house is as lucky for you as it was the last people’.
“When I asked what he meant he said they had won £4.5 million on the national lottery and so had decided to move.
“I took that as a sign and decided to put the postcode lottery on.”
“We’ve had family in the past who have done quite well from it before so I thought why not?”
She said: “When I saw on Facebook that our postcode had won, the news shocked me. I put the lottery on but I’ve never really expected to win.
“We are really chuffed, and excited to find out how much we have won. We haven’t planned what we are going to do with it yet. Because we didn’t know the exact amount but I’m sure we will be doing something nice as a family.”
The last two owners of the property in Sandy Lane, Billingham, have also won at lottery competitions.
