This particular car was actually a part of the Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta LWB (long-wheelbase) series. But after it competed in the 10-day Tour de France automobile race, it became more commonly known as the Berlinetta Tour de France.
In terms of power, it shares the same engine with other Ferrari 250 GT cars. It is equipped with a 3.0-L V12 engine. And after some modifications, the engine output increased from 240 PS (177 kW; 237 hp) to 260 PS (191 kW; 256 hp).
There were 77 of this car produced. And one of them hit the RM Auctions house in August, 2015. The auction took place in California, United States. One enthusiast bidder won the 1956 car for $13.2 million.
