Now that Winter is almost over, it’s time to change our wardrobes and rock the fresh fashion trends for spring 2016.

Designers have taken their job seriously and they surely did not disappoint the fashion community with their Spring/Summer 2016 collections and we did not expect less.

This Spring styles that everyone loves come back to life thanks to the talented fashion designers. Let’s see 10 trends for spring 2016 present on the runway!

However, it’s still going to be winter for a few more days, so be sure to click here in order to find out what you should wear!

1. The Cold Shoulder

We will start our list of fashion trends to follow this Spring with the cut-out shoulder. This trend was  extremely popular in the retail world this summer and as a result many designers showcased tops and dresses with cold shoulder silhouettes for Spring 2016.

If you still have doubts about purchasing this design, just know that the exposed shoulder trend is an extremely wearable one, prone to transition beautifully from day to night, from subtle to sexy, from casual to sophisticated.

Bernard Chandran or Guy Laroche are one of the designers that opted for this style.

2. The Victorian Era

It seems like the Victorian Era is back. Fall’s 2015 Victorian theme wasn’t just a one-hit wonder. It is still very much alive and you can feel its presence in the exaggerated sleeves present at the fashion shows.

High necks, ruffles, bows and broderie anglaise will be on the streets of the most important fashion cities in the world this Spring.

Fendi, Miu Miu, Christian Dior or Simone Rocha are just a few names determined to bring the Victorian Age back to life.

3. 90’s Kid

Apparently the fashion industry is a bit nostalgic this season. The trend that stole the show in Paris is 90’s inspired. By bringing back that ultimate era of “cool”, brands seem to want to make fashion lovers remember the good ol’ days.

Rave culture, minimalism, grunge-inspired designs were present at the fashion shows.

DKNY, Nina Ricci, or Rag & Bone have serious intentions when it comes to taking us back to that decade.

4. New-Age Hippie

It looks like the fashion world is determined to bring back the styles that everyone loves. The hippie one is no exception. 1970s have been a decade of  happenings, from Flower Power to Disco style.

For this season designers such as Jonathan Saunders, Alberta Ferretti, Rebecca Minkoff have turned to West Coast influences, with colourful prints and maxi dresses that please our eyes!

5. Orange Juice

Orange might be the colour of this year’s Spring. Although it is a bit risque, this season is the perfect time to wear it!
It was greatly appreciated especially at the New York Fashion Week, where it could be seen in a variety of shades. Dion Lee, Adam Selman, Paul Smith or Altuzzara highlighted their collections with this colour.

6. Lingerie Chic

Pieces of clothing that are usually destined to the bedroom are getting their day in the sun. Alexander Wang, Wes Gordon, Givenchy, Calvin Klein, and Yigal Azrouël are the designers that apparently love the feeling you get when you arrive from work or school and change into your comfy clothes.
Silk pajamas, piping and loungewear were popular choices. If you have problems choosing what to wear in the morning, this might do the trick for you.

7. Fringe

The fringe was here last Spring, last Fall and it seems like it won’t be missing from the fashion trends of Spring 2016. The fringe was a hit at the New York Fashion Week, and we are not talking only about accessories but also shoes, skirts, bags and dresses.
Givenchy, Rebecca Minkoff, Ralph Lauren, Marissa Webb are just a few names that opted for the fringe look.

8. Gold

Thanks to an especially strong showing on Spring 2016 runways, shiny gold fabrc is about to be a seasonal standout.
While DVF opted for a softer gold gossamer, at Karen Walker, lamé-like leather stole the show and at Alice and Olivia, a gold sequin dress was paired with flat sandals, accentuating its wearability.

9. The Micro Pleat

Of all the trends on the runways so far, it’s clear that pleats are in for Spring 2016.

Pleats are amazing. They are interesting, they add a lot of flounce and still end up appearing as chic and exquisite as they can be. If you add micro pleats to a piece of clothing, it is bound to look even better.

Some of the brands that chose micro pleats for their collections are Chanel, Gucci, Carolina Herrera or Stella McCartney.

10. The Spanish Inspiration

There’s no better way to keep yourself warm than wearing flamenco skirts and Spanish dresses with ribbons, ruffles, and a fair share of feathers.
DVF, Michael Kors or Balmain are just a few names that incorporated hints of Spanish culture in their amazing collections, From lacy cocktail dresses to the breathtaking gowns.

These are the fashion trends you should not miss this Spring! Which one is your favourite and which one would you be too shy to try?
