Puma x McQ by Alexander McQueen Collection Brings 50s Colors
The athletic German brand Puma brings another killer collection for Spring/Summer 2015 – with McQ by Alexander McQueen!
It’s been a truly busy period of time at Puma and celebrities seem to stand in line at the famous brand.
After recently teaming up with Solange Knowles and announcing Rihanna as the new creative director, now Puma launched the third collaboration with McQ.
You can imagine what this collaboration led to. The edginess of McQ on Puma silhouettes? These babies are going to sell in no time!
The entire collection was inspired from one of the high fashion designer’s memorable shows, the Spring/Summer 1995 show called “The Birds” which presented models bound in scotch tape and dressed with clothing featuring bird prints.
The latest collaboration between Puma and McQ brings eight footwear pieces available in multiple colors for both men and women.
And, boy, the presence of Alexander McQueen is more than well felt as they dug through the brand’s graphical archive and made use of the best of it in creating each design. And of course, some special features resulted and the notable ones took the form of technical mesh, tyre print soles, outer cage casing and glow-in-the-dark panelling.
The collection brings unique details like silver painted leathers and perfect shapes created with laser cutting and spread across runners, hi-tops and low-tops.
And beside the premium leathers, all these babies reveal a gorgeous ’50s Formica-inspired color palette featuring stark monochrome with orange and blue details, soft milky pastels and basically every color you can think about when you say “spring” or “summer” in the Puma x McQ unique style.
Probably the pieces that reveal best the latest boldness of McQueen are the Rush Mid Low and Mid T models featuring graphic tyre print covers.
But by far the best piece of the entire collection are the Run Mids. Inspired from the performance of the greatest athletes, the Run Mids present a nubuck cage design that pops out thanks to a metallic foil and fluro-orange leather. And of course, it should come as no surprise that they were a main piece to the McQ Summer/Spring 2015 collection.
