Some days ago, an act of heroism happened, one that not many of us would have done.
A Tesla owner bumped his electric car to save another driver who has suffered a stroke on a highway in Munich, Germany.
According to MuenchnerMerkur, the heroic driver saw a Volkswagen Passat swerving erratically, hitting the guardrail many times, and it seemed odd to him.
He then took a closer look and noticed that the driver appeared to be unconscious. The Tesla driver did not think twice and tried to stop that car by driving in front and slowed down the car, gradually.
All that happened was a gentle collision that stopped both cars. Then he proceeded to remove the other driver from the car.
According to reports by the German media, the driver was likely suffering a stroke.
Shortly after, the ambulance and the police arrive at the scene and transported the 57-year-old man to the hospital.
Officials say the Volkswagen driver suffered “internal injuries” and was taken to a special clinic for treatment.
“I had to stop his car somehow, otherwise it would have continued forever,” Kick later told the German paper. “And it was clear that the driver needed urgent help.”
The combined damages of both cars were minor, unlike what would have happened if not the 41-year-old Tesla driver, Manfred Kick, would have not seen the unconscious driver when he did.
The local fire department Feuerwehr München said Kick “showed incredible courage.”
All that happened was bumper damage to the Passat and the Tesla, with a total of $10,000, according to a newspaper report.
His good deed did not passed unnoticed; Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the company is covering all repair costs in recognition of the heroism by the Tesla driver.
In a tweet, Musk said, “Congrats to the Tesla owner who sacrificed damage to his own car to bring a car with an unconscious driver safely to a stop!”

The driver would not have been able to pull off this stunt if the electric vehicle was programmed to always use its sensors to prevent collisions.
The German police are conducting a formal investigation against Kick, as is always the case after an accident. However, according to a policeman handling the case, he is more likely to get an award for his bravery than a fine.
