Jaguar Teams Up With Shell to Create First In-Car Payment System in the World
Yes, Jaguar teams up with Shell to create first in-car payment system in the world! Find out how you can use this!
Their new payment method is going to let you use Apple Pay or PayPal (with Android Pay coming later) to pay for gas right away within your car at the pumps.
This method will be released to the United Kingdom first, but will be released all over the world soon after that.
All you need to do in order to use this method is to install the Shell app and so you can make payments easier to do.
However, we did mention that Shell partnered up with car brand Jaguar, so once the Shell app is installed it should show up on your Jaguar’s in-car infotainment touchscreen display.
Once the app is installed you can choose to either pay with your PayPal or Apple Pay credentials as mentioned.
All of these features will be available soon in the UK, as long as you’ve got a Jaguar XE, XF, and F-PACE car.
With the help of the app you can select how much gas you want, and then pre-pay for your fuel in the easiest way possible, because the world is in movement and we need more time to do what we like not to spend at the gas station.
If you are worried of you need the receipt of the payment, keep calm because the app also shows a receipt for the payment on the display and forwards along a copy to your email address.
Yes, a lot of pumps already support payment via credit or debit card, but this method is even more convenient since you never have to open your wallet.
Peter Virk, Jaguar Land Rover’s director of connected car and future technology, said:
“In a world where cash is no longer king, customers are increasingly using electronic payments and contactless cards. Making a payment directly from a car’s touchscreen will make refuelling quicker and easier.”
“With this new system you can choose any pump on the forecourt and pay for the fuel even if you’ve forgotten your wallet or can’t find your credit or debit card.”
Jaguar has said this comes with many pros like parents can pay without waking children or leaving them in the car unattended. And for company car users, journeys and receipts can be logged via the car’s touchscreen.
We are just hoping that Jaguar owners will not be the only ones who get to enjoy this luxury for long.
