13. Sony Ericsson Black Diamond VIPN ($300,000)
Launched in 2006, the concept of this sexy-looking smartphone is created by Singaporean industrial designer, Jaren Goh. The phone is called Black Diamond. Sony Ericsson only produced five units of Black Diamond smartphone. Each of them costs $300,000.
The phone has ultra-thin candy bar style with glossy finish. It is covered by a layer of polycarbonate, which is vividly illuminated via OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) technology. Thus, it achieves the so-called borderless screen effect. There are two diamonds used on this phone. The bigger one is at the back of the phone and the other one is on the navigation button.
The handset comes with Windows Mobile 5.0 OS with 2-inch OLED display. It features 4.0 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and intuitive touchscreen user interface.
It is also equipped with 128 MB Internal memory with expandable capability via micro SD. In addition, the device is powered by a 400 MHz Xscale processor.
