This 2006 Lamborghini Concept S Will be auctioned in New York
The 2006 Lamborghini Concept S will be headed for auction in New York.
Back in 2005, Lamborghini introduced at Geneva Motor Show, a dramatic Gallardo speedster concept.
The car they introduced then was the Concept S, the one we are talking about today.
Designed by Luc Donckerwolke, long before he moved to the Bentley design department, the car is powered by the 5.0L V10 engine.
This model included a more radical bodywork that bisected the open cockpit, with a pair of low-profile wind deflectors instead of a single-flame windshield.
Based on the Gallardo, the car was intended to be a modern interpretation of new roadsters. They planned to divide the interior in two and give both the driver and passenger a separate windscreen.
They were so excited about this car that they were even planning to produce it in limited number. However, the high costs and production time let them finish only two models.
One is sitting in the Lamborghini museum with no engine, whilst the other is being sold at an RM Sotheby’s auction in New York on 18th November.

The auction house expects that it’ll fetch between $2.4 and 3 million, and given this particular model’s rarity.
Imagine how many collectors might be interested in buying the one-of-a-kind Concept S.
In fact, the Concept S stands to set a new record for the highest amount ever paid for a Lamborghini at auction.
