AgustaWestland is relatively a young company compared to others like Sikorsky. The Italian company was founded in the year of 2000. It went through several business controversies. And last year it was merged into Leonardo-Finmeccanica’s Helicopter Sector.
AW101 is the most expensive product from AgustaWestland. It can take up to thirty passengers. And it is mostly used by corporates or law enforcements. British, Danish, and Portuguese national armies are using this helicopter. But to them, it is more commonly known as Merlin.
This anti-submarine warfare can travel up to 833 kilometers with 278 kph of cruise speed. And according to Wikipedia, each unit of AgustaWestland AW101 is sold at starting price $21 million. But if you want to turn this military aircraft into luxury transport, you are going to need more than that.
