Liam Neeson is an Irish actor and his current net worth is $95 million.
Liam Neeson is the son of Katherine Neeson, a cook, and Bernard Neeson, a caretaker at the Ballymena Boys All Saints Primary School.
He was born in Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, and was raised as a Roman Catholic.
As the third of four siblings, he grew up as a Catholic in predominately Protestant town, which made him cautions. He began taking boxing lessons at the All Saints Youth Club, when he was nine years old, and later became Ulster’s amateur senior boxing champion.
He first put his feet on a stage when he was 11 years old, after a teacher offered him to play the main character in a school place. He accepted because the girl he had a crush on was starring in the play as well.
Over the following years, he kept acting in school productions, without or without his crush.
Influenced by Minister Ian Paisley, Liam’s interest for acting and decision to become an actor grew even stronger.
Neeson has said of Paisley: “He had a magnificent presence and it was incredible to watch him just Bible-thumping away… it was acting, but it was also great acting and stirring too”.
But before getting into acting he enrolled as a physics and computer science student, prior leaving to work for the Guinness Brewery.
While there he has discovered his talent for football and was seen by Sean Thomas the Bohemian F.C., but he was not offered a contract.
A few years later, Liam joined the Lyric Players’ Theater in Belfast for two years and got a role in Excalibur (1981).
His breakthrough role was in Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List, after that he kept getting big roles in successful films, such as Michael Collins (1996), Les Miserables (1998), Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace as Qui-Gon Jinn (1999), and the superhero film Batman Begins as Ra’s al Ghul (2005)
He became internationally famous after starring in the action thriller series Taken (2008-2015).
Throughout his career he has been nominated for several awards such as Academy Award for Best Actor, BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a leading Role, and three Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama.
