T.I. is an American hip hop recording artist and actor and his current net worth is $60 million.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, as the son of Clifford Harris Sr., and Violeta Morgan, he grew up with his grandparents in Atlanta’s Center Hill neighborhood.
He started rapping at eight years old, and a while after he went to Douglass High School, but dropped out.
As a young adult, he used to deal drugs and by the age of 14 police has already arrested him several times.
He got his nickname from his childhood name Tip, after his paternal great-grandfather.
For some time people referred to him as Rubber Band Man, because he used to wear rubber bands around the wrist to show people that he is rich, in terms on drugs.
A while after, he and local rapper Big Kuntry King became friends. The duo started doing mixtapes out of the truck of their car.
He signed to Kawan KP Prather’s record label Ghet-O-Vision Entertainment after he discovered T.I.
After signing with Arista Records subsidiary LaFace Records he changed his stage name from TIP to T.I., out of respect for Arista label-mate Q-Tip.
A while after he started the Southern hip hop group called Pimp Squad Click (P$C), alongside his friends and rappers from his hometown.
Upon the deal with Arista ended, he signed to Atlantic Records. He quickly became the CEO of his own label imprint, Grand Hustle Records, since 2003.
So far throughout his career he has released nine studio albums, with seven of them reaching the top five of the charts.
He had his big breakthrough in 2003 after the release of his first high-profile feature, on Bone Crusher’s hit single Never Scared.
In November 2013, Harris announced that he had signed with Columbia Records, after his 10-year contract with Atlantic came to an end. Then in 2014 he released the single Paperwork, his debut under Columbia Records.
In February 2016, Harris announced he signed a distribution deal with Roc Nation, to release his tenth album.
During his career he has won three Grammy Awards and has served two terms in county jail. Despite that he breakthrough all and today is one of the richest rappers in the world.
