Matthew Perry is a dual national Canadian-American actor and his current net worth is $80 million.

Born in Massachusetts to Suzanne Marie Morrison, a Canadian journalist and former press secretary, and John Bennett Perry, an American actor and former model, he grew up in Ontario.

After his parents divorced, right before his first birthday, his mother married Keith Morrison, a broadcast journalist.

Raised by his mother in Ottawa, Ontario, he attended Rockcliffe Park Public School and Ashbury College.

Growing up, he loved playing tennis and became a top-ranked junior player.

At 15, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. There he went to The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, from which he graduated in 1987.

Later he took improve comedy lessons at the LA Connection in Sherman Oaks, while still in high school.

He starred in TV series Second Chance, as Chazz Russell. After 13 episodes, the show changed its name to Boys Will Be Boys and its entire plot to focus on the adventures of Chazz.

Then he remained in Los Angeles, where he made his screen debut in the 1988 film A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon.

He continued with a guest appearance on the series Growing Pains, where he played Carol Seaver’s boyfriend who dies.

In the mist of his guest appearances he became a regular on the 1990 CBS sitcom Sydney.

Perry got his next TV starring role on the ABC sitcom Home Free, which aired only 11 episodes in 1993.

By then people started to know him, and he immediately got a role in the sitcom pilot LAX 2194.

Because the show had some delays he auditioned for other projects like the pilot Six of One, later renamed into Friends.

Marta Kauffman and David Kane, the producers of Friends, didn’t consider him for an audition because of his commitments to the pilot of LAX 2194.

Eventually he got a reading and got the part of Chandler Bing.

Along with starring in the short-lived television series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Perry has appeared in a number of films, including Fools Rush In (1997), The Whole Nine Yards (2000), and 17 Again (2009).

In 2010 he voiced Benny in the role-playing game Fallout: New Vegas. Fun fact: he is a fan of the game.

He co-created, co-written, and served as executive producer and star in the ABC sitcom Mr. Sunshine, which ran in 2011.

Perry also co-developed as well as starring in the 2015 CBS sitcom The Odd Couple, where he plays Oscar Madison.
