Having selected the route they would like to take, customers spend between 20 and 30 minutes photographing, Paul said.
Each flight involves a loop around Manhattan in direction, allowing photographers – who are harnessed – to get the best shots on either side as well as taking a few ‘shoe selfies’ along the way.
This April, FlyNYON started offering flights in Miami too.
Paul added: ‘The shoe selfie is a really popular shot. People love to put themselves into interesting pictures, so they get really excited by it.
‘It’s particularly fun if you happen to have some cool sneakers on, and we see a ton of them on Instagram. ‘It’s an even better shot with an identifiable landmark in the background and New York City has some great views.’
Flight packages start from £192 ($299) per person for New York and Miami helicopter rides.
