The transaction happened in 2010 for $182 million Google acquired Slide.com.
The famous company that developed media apps was in the eye of Google for quite some time before they decided to acquire.
Because Google wanted to enter the world of social networking, Slide.com was their best chance to do it.
Especially when Slide.com had some of the most popular apps available. Google took under consideration Slide’s experience and effectiveness and ended up by acquiring it.
Slide.com was a valuable asset to Google’s own social network, Google+.
But despite that everything seemed fine Slide.com went out of business two years later, forcing Google to shut down the company.
