Victoria’s Secret Owner Leslie Wexner Restored one of England’s Grandest Country Estates
The owner of the $30 million estate is Victoria’s Secret billionaire Leslie Wexner who turned it into one of the England’s Grandest Country Estates.
Leslie Wexner, the billionaire tycoon behind the Victoria’s Secret lingerie empire is keeping his multi-million Costworlds estate away from any curious eyes.
Les Wexner’s family has restored the Foxcode House, which they purchased the property from Christopher Boot Holman, an heir to the Boots the Chemist empire, in a private sale in 1997.
Despite owning the real estate since 1997, Mr Wexner has kept his ownership under wraps.
He has restored Foxcote House into a $30 million shooting estate by building a giant hedge around the Cotsworlds manor, in Shipston-on-Stour in Warwickshire, just to preserve its secrecy.
Now, the property is one of the grandest in England.
Shooting parties have come and go from Foxcote House, because the owner invites all of his friends for one or two weeks a year during the current shooting season.
Then the helicopters fly in and the Range Rovers and Land Rovers drive out, and everyone goes out for hunting.
Les Wexner, according to Forbes magazine, has a net worth estimated of £5 billion ($7.7 billion).
The Wexners family has spent a huge amount of money on the place, but it seems that it was worth every penny.
The Foxcote House was built in 1740 and sits atop a hill close to the honeyed stone village of Ilmington, Warwickshire.
He appears to be fond of Georgian architecture. His main residence in Ohio is a mock Georgian mansion.
Mrs Holman’s parents bought the house, then being used as a private school, in the 1960s and began its transformation into a family home.
“It was a wreck,” recalled Mrs Holman, “There was peeling yellow paper but my parents slowly did it up. My parents restored it brilliantly, It was simply gorgeous.
“My family then sold it to the Wexners. I live in a farm house on the estate, which I refuse to sell.”
