The 15 Most Expensive Electric Cars in the World

14. 2014 Porsche Cayenne Hybrid – $70,900

The hybrid version of the Porsche Cayenne S has a 2995cc supercharged petrol V6 engine, and a 10.8kWh lithium-ion battery.

This Cayenne is a big improvement on Porsche’s previous hybrid model, which had an old-fashioned 1.7kWh nickel-metal hydride battery pack. Plus, you could only charge it when the engine is running which is particularly impractical. One of this car’s great features is that the battery pack can reserve energy so that it can emit absolutely no emissions in built-up urban areas.

Obviously, this Porsche still packs a punch, with 410 bhp and the ability to go from stationary to 60mph in a nice, swift 5.9 seconds.
