12. Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione SWB ($13,500,000)
We have seen the Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta SWB earlier on this list. It was sold for $11.4 million. But it was the road car version. Or as Italian calls it, lusso.
This one was the same model used for the 1961 GT Class race where Ferrari came out on top of the Constructor’s Championship. It was developed by Giotto Bizzarrini, Carlo Chiti, and Mauro Forghieri. These talents also did their job on the Ferrari 250 GTO, which is arguably the best classic Ferrari car of all time.
This 1960 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione SWB was auctioned just a couple months ago. It was in August, 2016, to be exact. The auction took place at Gooding & Company auction in California, United States.
The amount of $13.5 million was spent by one lucky bidder. Unfortunately, he may not be able to drive this car on the street legally since this is not the road car version. Let’s hope he had built a race track on his backyard.
