Unless you are doing something athletic, white socks should never,ever be worn with above the ankle jeans. Seriously, it looks terrible.

Make an effort and match your socks with your pants not your shoes.For example, when you are wearing dress pants, the colour of your socks should be dictated by the colour of your pants and not by the shade of your shoes.
