Everyone expected that Sofia Coppola to be in the list. The chic and sophisticated director is also an avid art collector.
On her walls at home line Elizabeth Peyton, Tracey Emim, and William Eggleston. According to W Magazine, the pieces are “not only striking, but [evocative of] the visual mood of Coppola’s films. The Eggleston, especially…looked like an outtake from The Virgin Suicides.”
Back in 2010, she was seen at the Art Basel Miami and NADA, where she bought works by Australian conceptual sculptor Hugo Markl and French painter Anne-LaureSacriste.
A CalArts graduate, she co-chaired the committee for the 2014 exhibition and sale.
