Land Rover announced the intention of resurrect the original Range Rover and plans to use the same restoration treatment it gave to the Series 1 Land Rover last year.

Because they are bringing back a classic car, it will be the perfect chance for the collectors to buy a version of the original Range Rover brand new and straight from the company.

The 1970s Range Rover, created by Land Rover Classic, will come in a batch of ten examples of the original car.

The 3.5-litre carburetor fed V8 sits under the hood, producing 132bhp and 251Nm of torque to make this car, finished in Bahama Gold with a tan cloth and leather interior, one of the most beautiful original cars.

All four wheels are driven through a four-speed manual gearbox and a lockable central differential.

Completed by Land Rover Classic, every Range Rover Reborn, will begin in the hands of an experienced restoration team who’ll work with customers to find the best possible base vehicles for the restoration process.

Customers will be advised on collectability, unique characteristics of their chosen base Range Rovers and preferable chassis numbers.

So, you get to have an original car produced by the company that made the car in 1970s, but you get to customize it your way! How cool is that?

According to Tim Hannig, Director at Land Rover Classic, the Range Rover Reborn program is “a wonderful way to preserve the much sought after three-door original Range Rover from the 1970s, from period-correct color ways to interior trim and accessories.”

The Bahama Gold 1978 Range Rover Reborn will go on display at Salon Retromobile in Paris next week, alongside a Jaguar Classic restored fixed-head 1962 E-Type, plus a ‘New Original’ £1m+ Jaguar XKSS.

And they will restore your car to original 1970s factory specs using Land Rover Classic parts.

Prices for the “Reborn” Range Rovers will start from £135,000 (approx. $169,000).
