15 Powerful Ideas To Implement This Year

It’s the first month of the year’s second half, but who says it’s too late to implement new and powerful ideas for the year?  Since no one said it’s impossible, let’s look at 15 powerful ideas you can still implement this year! Ready to make some cool changes to your life? Let’s get started! Welcome to Alux!  If you don’t feel like reading the article here’s the video version:

1

HAVE ONE EXCEPTIONAL WEEK

What would your life look like if it were perfect?  Great job, happy life, great body, and perhaps a wonderful relationship! I bet you can already picture how that version of yourself looks, sounds, and walks.  So, why not act like it for an entire week?  That sounds like a funny idea, right? Well, the real question should be: what have you got to lose? Nothing!  What would this perfect version of yourself do? Then do that!  Would they work tirelessly towards their goals? Would they spend less time worrying about things they can’t change? Act like it!  This exceptional week will help you see the type of person you want to become and will push you to actively take steps to become this perfect version of yourself!  Who knows, acting like it could be the start of great things for your career!

2

DIGITAL MINIMALISM

Let’s face it: do you need your phone every minute of the day? Of course not!  Digital minimalism involves finding a moment in a day, or a week, where you decide to keep your smartphone, laptop, game console, headphones, and every digital item away from you, unless you need them to function!  You can start with taking a few hours off your mobile phone and social apps; don’t bother about what’s trending every minute, you can always find that out when you get back online!  Digital minimalism helps you stay concentrated, and it keeps the noise and distractions away! Why not try it out? You’ll be glad you did!

3

WRITE THINGS DOWN

Did you know that writing is one of the best ways to sharpen your mind?  Well, if you didn’t, now you do! Writing things down helps you collect your thoughts, which in turn helps you see things more clearly!  So writing down your thoughts also makes it easier to analyse, and you can see how certain thoughts affect your lifestyle!  Writing also helps us keep information; with a diary, you can remember how you felt 4 months back due to how you wrote down the day’s happenings.  If it was something negative, it could help you see how much you’ve grown since then.  So why not grab a notepad and create a journal out of it?

4

SPEND TIME WITH YOUR LOVED ONES

You probably know this, but a little reminder wouldn’t hurt: your parents wouldn’t be around forever!  Now, this isn’t to scare you into doing anything; it is simply to remind you that spending time with your loved ones matters because they won’t be around forever!  It is quite easy to fall into the work, work, and more work loop and forget the importance of spending time with your loved ones.  Did you know that most of the time you’d spend with your parents comes during your early years?  And if you are out of college, it means you will spend limited time with your parents.  It only makes sense that you allow these moments to count and make them happen as frequently as possible.

5

INVEST IN ALL KINDS OF WEALTH

While growing up, we all pretty much-defined wealth as having more than enough money to cater for our needs.  We probably thought it meant having the best cars, the finest houses, and perhaps a private jet to keep things exotic.  However, what we failed to learn is that we do not have a single type of wealth, and pursuing just financial wealth has a way of stopping you from finding other types of wealth. We’ve got social wealth, which focuses mainly on your relationships, and how important they are in your life –  Physical wealth, which primarily revolves around your physical health; mental wealth, that is your knowledge, faith, skills, and mental health; and time, which when lost can never be recovered!  Understand that these several kinds of wealth are equally important, and taking actionable steps to reach god-mode in each stage is necessary.

6

BUILD AN INTELLECTUAL CIRCLE

Do you know that one of the best ways to sharpen your mind is to engage in intellectual discussions? Yes, that’s correct! And you know what makes it better? Disagreements!  Agreeing all the time isn’t a good sign; how boring would it be if you and your friends agreed on everything? It is essential that you build a circle of friends where you can exchange and share philosophical ideas.  And if these discussions lead to diverse opinions, then that’s a sign you are in the right circle.  Arguments are a test of how fast you can think on the spot, and if they happen regularly, imagine how sharp your mind would become in a few months!

7

READ FREQUENTLY

When you write, it’s like emptying your mind; when you read, it’s like filling it back up!  Books, magazines, and articles contain almost everything humanity has discovered over the years.  If you want to learn about something, there’s a fair chance somebody, somewhere has written about it. It is then up to you to find this book, and digest every word in it.  Reading also fills your mind with ideas, especially since it relies heavily on your imagination!  If you want to become more creative this second half of the year, reading more often is a step in the right direction!

8

ACHIEVE SOMETHING EVERYDAY

Ever heard of the tiny gains chart? Probably not.  That’s because nothing like that word existed until now, and here’s why I mentioned tiny gains: recording tiny gains everyday is one of the most reliable ways to achieve bigger goals!  And when you make a conscious effort to achieve these smaller goals, which could be done in writing, you have successfully created a Tiny Gains Chart!  Your Tiny Gains Chart could contain goals as simple as completing a task before the end of the day, or sending out a pitch.  And no matter how small you think this achievement is, a little celebration wouldn’t hurt. Come on, you deserve it!

9

ALLOW YOURSELF GET BORED

Uh-oh, this one is definitely going to get some brows up.  “Get bored? That only makes me not want to do anything…” Um, who said we had to do something every minute?  Come on, your mind and body needs rest to properly function, so a little boredom to help your mind and body stay in sync isn’t such a bad idea.  But that’s not really the point of getting bored; getting bored is a chance to force your creative juices.  Try it out; no texts, books, movies, music, just allow your mind to do its thing!  You can simply lie in bed and stare into space, or grab a chair and watch the world go by.  30 minutes each day sounds like a good start, don’t you think?

10

FIND YOUR TRUE FRIENDS AND CHERISH THEM

Life’s too short to be surrounded with fair-weather friends.  I mean, aren’t we supposed to spend time with people who genuinely love us for who we are, and not what they could potentially gain from us? If you’ve always felt like you are in the wrong friends’ circle, this is a good time to reassess your friendship, and see if it is beneficial to you, or not. It isn’t? Then it’s time to take a walk.  It is? Good for you!  Make sure you do everything you can to keep this friendship alive.  Most importantly, do not hesitate to tell your friends how important they are to you; that stuff really gets people in their feelings!

11

ADOPT THE 30 FOR 30 PLAN

30 for 30 plan? What’s that?  Interestingly, it’s the easiest way to become an expert at something!  The 30 for 30 law says that if you want to become good at something, spend 30 minutes on this project for 30 days!  At the end of these 30 days, you would have invested 900 minutes into becoming better at this, which is bound to yield positive results. So what is your opinion about these ideas to implement?

12

ASSESS YOUR GROWTH

How do you know how much you’ve grown if you fail to assess your growth properly?  Assessing your growth helps you see how far you’ve come, and how much more you need to do.  Assessing your growth is also a chance to see which of your tactics have been working, and which hasn’t been yielding results.  What areas do you need to work on? What area do you think needs to paid more attention?  An assessment of your growth helps you draw a better idea of where you are going, and the various steps you need to take to get there!

13

DON’T FOLLOW EVERY ADVICE

Well, if it isn’t another eye-brow-raising idea! Don’t follow every piece of advice? This is one of the Ideas To implement this year. I’m pretty sure you are wondering how we arrived at that.

Advice aren’t always meant to be followed; sometimes, they are pointers to help you see things from a certain angle.  When someone advises you, you have the chance to see things from their perspective, and it places before you an opportunity to weigh several sides to a story.  And let’s face it: some advice can be too idealistic.

This is because they don’t completely grasp the situation since they aren’t in it.  And even if they were in a similar situation in the past, it is sometimes misleading to direct your life based on someone else’s reality!  So, rather than swallow advice “hook, line, and sinker”, take your time to break it down, filter it, and take what you think is helpful.  And a pro-tip: always take advice from multiple people, you are welcome.

14

TRY NEW THINGS

You shouldn’t expect different results if you keep trying the same things!  Mixing two chemicals over and over wouldn’t give you a different result; it would give you the same result over and over.  It’s sort of the same way with life; if you keep doing the same thing repeatedly, there is a strong chance the results will remain the same.  So this is one of the Ideas To Implement This Year. However, when you throw in twists now and then, you will see positive results in no time! Stop staying in your comfort zone; you could develop back pains staying all cooped up in that zone.  Think outside the box, do something extraordinary, ask questions, learn new skills, and adopt a positive outlook toward life.

SAVE TIME

Time is our most valuable asset as humans, and it must be maximized at all times! These are the last Ideas To Implement This Year. To save time, you don’t have to do everything by yourself.  Delegation is one great option, and using automation tools is another.

Whatever you do, I’m pretty sure there’s a system designed to help you save time while still being very productive.  It is also vital to clear your desk of distractions when you need to work; scrolling between Google Docs and Twitter wouldn’t make your work faster; it will only rob you of valuable time!

And there you have it!  15 powerful ideas that you can implement this year!  Are there any of these you practice already?  How about you tell us how it’s been in the comments section? You never know; you just might be helping somebody else!  Thanks for spending some time with us today!
