9. 1966 PORSCHE 911
The famous and distinctive 911 design was introduced back in 1963 as a luxury car, and was built until 1989 by Porsche.
Correctly pronounced nine-eleven, this model was notable by being air-cooled and rear engined, and was often cited as the most successful competition car ever.
The car made its debut at the 1963 Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung, also known as the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The 911 was so successful, that for most enthusiasts this model remains the one “true” Porsche, being the only one with a direct link to the original 356.
