Unlike most jewelers who would simply pay for a 30 second commercial, Nobue Ikara decided to do things differently.
They decided, in order for women to buy more platinum jewelry, to make a cake and decorate it with platinum necklaces, pins and pendants.
They hoped that by doing this, people would buy platinum.
The cake is worth $130,000 including the chains, and unlike other cakes, you can’t eat the decorations.
Oh, and Nobue Ikara is not a jeweler but a chef who just wanted to make an expensive cake.
