The first Benitoite stone was discovered in 1907, along the San Benito River, California.
We guess that’s why it’s call Benitoite.
Some gems have also been found in Japan and Arkansas, but in San Benito county is the only commercial mining.
Benitoite can be found in colors like blue and purple.
And if you put it under a UV light, this precious stone shines, providing a chalky blue color.
Because they can be only found in a single mine, the prices rise it expectations. What a fine piece of jewelry it makes!
