We leave Swiss watches for a while, to take a look at one of Asia’s pride, Casio. The Japanese watchmaker is arguably the most popular among Asia’s market. And G-Shock, in particular, has been around since I can remember.
In total, there are 231 G-Shock watch models made. 199 of them are for men, and the rest 32 are for women. The retail price ranges from $99 to $950. And one of the latest models is the Casio G-Shock G-Steel GSTS110D-1A9 which is sold at $350 per piece. The G-Steel model has layer guard structure design. It features the hardness and dignity of metal.
“A new type of solar panel uses an irregular shape that allows more of the panel surface to be exposed to light, regardless of the current hand positions. The black and gold model presents a bold, energetic face, the blue model creates a cool look and the white model has a refreshing design.” – gshock.com.
In terms of global market share, Casio contributes 2.1% among the rest watch manufacturers, which is the 9th highest in the world. That means the Japanese watchmaker sold around 25 million watches in one year alone.
