So Apparently Vladimir Putin’s Workout Clothes Cost $3,200
Yes, there is no mistake here; Vladimir Putin’s workout clothes cost $3,200.
The Russian president sweats his way through silk and cashmere, like any other respectable person.
He has made another attempt to show regular Russians how vital and relatable he is. With this bizarre photo shoot, Putin joined his Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
The location of the photo shoot was a gym located in the state residence in Sochi, Russia.
The sweat pants Putin wore while working out, have a retail price of $1,425 a pair, according to Quartz.
Why do the pants cost so much?
Simple, the pants were made by Italian luxury designer Loro Piana, who specializes in wool and cashmere products.
Made of 50% silk and 50% cashmere, the Portland joggers were Putin’s choice for workout.
But that’s not all. To complete his outfit, the Russian president wore the matching Loro Piana $1,795 bomber-style zip-up hoodie and with that the entire costs of his outfit is estimated at $3,200.
But wait, the price of $3,200 does not include the T-Shirt and shoes.
Cashmere and silk are not known for being especially moisture-wicking or sweat-absorbing materials, but for him, these rules does not apply, as we see him in perfect shape with no sweat on, after the work out.
A Loro Piana spokesperson confirmed to Quartz that Putin was wearing the brand’s sweat suit in the photo shoot.
That’s surprising coming from Putin; we didn’t expect him to wear an expensive Italian sweat suit while at the same time banning products by foreign manufacturers in retaliation to the sanctions imposed on Russia by the West over the situation in Ukraine.
Russia has banned foreign produce, dairy products, condoms, and even medical devices, according to NBC.
Lucky for Putin, the ban doesn’t seem to apply to him and his cashmere sweat pants.
And after a hard workout, the two men also grilled meat over an open flame and had a cup of tea.
A $3,200 outfit for the gym might seem expensive for most of us, but not for Putin. He is the man who has a watch collection worth $700,000.
One report found he owned a 700-car garage filled with black Mercedes, and a $76,000 toilet on a presidential jet.
Bottom line, the set of Loro Piana cashmere outfit seems reasonable.
