13. Sweden ($310 per day)
For most people, the southern region of Sweden is the best to visit. It has most popular tourist sights. But the best thing to do during summer here is to go kayaking at Värmland. This province is known for its giant forests and abundant lakes for canoeing and kayaking.
The Vasamuseet should be on your itinerary as well. It is a sunken ship from the 1600s located at a museum in Djurgarden, Stockholm.
And if you have a hankering for those Swedish meatballs, where else to get better ones than in Sweden. Just thinking about those creamy gravy and fruit jam is making me hungry! Don’t get me started on Blabarssoppa drink and Kroppkakor pork-potato dumpling.
Here are some average high-end vacation costs per day in Sweden:
- Accommodation: $150
- Food: $73
- Local Transportation: $40
