13. Kaman SH-2G Super Seasprite ($26 million)
For decades, Kaman SH-2G Super Seasprite had been United States Navy’s aircraft until it was retired in 2001. Its $26 million price speaks for all sorts of warfare systems it comes with, such as anti-submarine, anti-surface, anti-ship missile defense, and anti-ship surveillance and targeting.
With an altitude ceiling of 14,600 feet this unique helicopter was designed for ship-based landings. That makes sense since it is mainly used for navy and all the air support needed where carriers are found.
It may look big, but Super Seasprite can only take up to eight passengers. I hope those passengers are not expecting for a fast ride. Because even though this helicopter is equipped with a bigger fuel tank than other helicopters its size, it can only travel with 222 kph cruise speed and 256 kph maximum speed.
Super Seasprite’s main function is to strike small ships on sea besides spotting gunfire, detecting mine, or assessing battle damage. Jack Sparrow should pray Barbossa does not get his hand on this helicopter or else he could easily gun him down on his ship.
