12. Bugatti Veyron Black Bess Legend Edition ($2.98 million)
Here is another model from the Le Légendes de Bugatti series. This fifth model of the series is called the Black Bess. It was inspired by and named after the Bugatti Type 18 which you can also see on the picture above.
Bugatti Type 18 was one of the first super cars made legal for street driving. It was also one of the fastest. It was so fast that it caught Roland Garros‘s attention. The aviation legend chose Type 18 as a car that could take him as fast on land as he could in the air. Combine that with Vitesse’s speed world record. That is what Black Bess is all about.
As it was mentioned earlier, while all of them have Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse technical features, each of these Vitesse legend edition models has distinctive exterior and interior design. Black Bess is all about black and gold. The black comes from its black carbon body. And the gold comes from some 24K gold coating and painting.
To respect Roland Garros as one of the first important people to own the original Black Bess, some parts of this car’s interior depict his legendary airplane.
Produced as a limited edition, each Black Bess units was sold out. The exact price was never disclosed, but the asking price is believed to be somewhere around $2.98 million per unit.
